HOUSE
of ADVENTURE
THE DEARY HISTORY ROADSHOW
Sorry,
it has to be said. That Deary author chap is a show-off. He
uses any excuse to pick up his guitar, get in his car, and
set off on one of his "Terry Deary History Roadshow"
tours. It's a 'horrible' history of the past 2000 years -
told through stories, songs, poems, jokes and role-play. The
focus is always on people, rather than dusty dates, and the
audience take part - or else! It's funny and thought-provoking,
entertaining and educational. After an hour of stories, drama,
songs, quizzes and audience fun he sells and signs books.
Terry has also produced a brand new two-man show - "Horrible
Christmas"!
The Roadshows ran from 1999 till 2003, being performed over 300 times. Since then Terry has had many requests to revive it and one day he might.
Watch the diary for more
details.
What they say about the "Terry Deary History Roadshow"
Cheshire's Head of Children's services said of the September
99 tour ...
"It
is the best event I have ever been involved in"
One woman in Durham described the show as ...
"The
best hour I've ever spent in my life!"
(Sad
lady. She should get out more.)
