February 2010

Deary Diary

In February Terry will be filming two television programmes. One will be about "The Battle of Towton" in Yorkshire, England. Terry will write and present the programme to be broadcast on BBC television in March 2010. This battle is said to be the most bloody in British history.

New publications

February will see the publication of the fourth and final title in the "Master Crook's Crime Academy" series - "Safe-cracking for Students"

And look out for the final book in the "Horrible Histories - Gory Stories" series, a novel about Pirates titlerd "Pirates and Plunder". In the shops early February.

April 2010

Terry will present the BBC Television Production "The Battle of Towton" as part of the BBC's "History of the World" series. Initially it will be shown in BBC Yorkshire region and probably get a national broadcast on BBC4. Filming was completed in February 2010 and through the most bitter cold weather for 25 years. here is Terry with historical mexpert helen Cox, shivering at Sandal Castle near Wakefield.

The annual Beamish Tram Challenge looks as if it will happen on Sunday 27 June 2010. This annual event sees runners race to beat a tram at Beamish North of England Open Air Museum. There are two races, a 1.5 mile fun run (one lap against the tram) and the 10k multi-terrain race which has one lap against the tram then goes off on a scenic route around the museum. Watch this space ... again!

You can still see Horrible Histories Trenches Exhibition at Imperial War Museum London. The "Trenches Handbook" is brought to life with the clothes, the food, the smells and the weapons from the First World War. There is a shop where you can find all the souvenirs you could ever want from a fabulous day out.

This month Terry will be filming Horrible Histories for CBBC Television. This will be the third series of the popular television sketch show for young viewers.

Terry's new full-length novel Put out ther Light will be published by A & C Black. Terry will be taking part in a signing tour to launch the book. Dates and places where you can meet him to have your copy signed will be announced here.
